Websites for Sunderland trades, built by a local.
I'm Dan. I build simple, fast websites for electricians, plumbers, roofers and plasterers across Sunderland and the North East. You get a fixed price, plain English and a site that's yours.

Your reviews are working for someone else
You've earned your reputation one job at a time. But if it lives on Checkatrade, MyBuilder or a Facebook page, you're paying for leads or relying on a page you don't control. And the customer sees three other sparkies or roofers right next to you.
A website of your own puts your reviews, your number and photos of your work in one place that only shows you.
A website, and someone to look after it
The build
A one-page site made for phones, because that's where your customers find you. What you do, where you work, your best reviews, photos of your jobs and a quote form. Your number is one tap away on every screen, and the domain is registered in your name.
The care plan
- Hosting and the security certificate
- Renewing your domain
- A quote form that keeps working
- Up to 30 minutes of changes a month
- A monthly check that everything works
What it doesn't include
Logo design, photography, online shops or booking systems, paid adverts, and promises about Google rankings. If you need one of these, I'll say so.
Sample designs
Three made-up businesses, each with its own design, to show that every site I build is made for that business rather than poured into a template. They're samples, not clients: the names are invented, the photos are licensed stock and the reviews are placeholders.
-
Plumbing and heating
Tidewell Plumbing & Heating
The standard package: warm and friendly, with same-day call-outs up front.
-
Roofing
Hylton Ridge Roofing
The standard package with a big banner photo and the phone number front and centre.
-
Joinery
Northbank Joinery
The package plus every add-on: a before/after slider, project stories, a step-by-step quote form with photos and a WhatsApp button.
Fixed prices, agreed before I start
Founding clients
£295 to build, then £20 a month
For my first three clients. In return I ask for a short testimonial and permission to show your site as my work.
Standard
£595 to build, then £30 a month
The same build and the same care plan, once the founding places have gone.
Half the build fee up front, half when the site goes live. The care plan runs for at least six months, then it's 30 days' notice to cancel. Your domain and files are yours. If you leave, you take them with you, free.
Optional add-ons, paid once on top of the build: a WhatsApp button (free), a before/after photo slider (£50), a project gallery with the story behind each job (£75) and a step-by-step quote form that takes photos (£100). All four together are £195. You can try them all on the Northbank Joinery sample.

Who you'll be dealing with
I'm Dan, and I live in Sunderland. I've worked in IT for 20 years and built websites earlier in my career.
Keel Digital is just me: no sales team, no call centre, no being passed around. Message me and it's me who rings you back.
Why "Keel"
A keel is the part of a ship nobody sees, and the part everything else depends on. The name comes from Keel Crossing, the footbridge over the Wear named for Sunderland's shipbuilders. Five things follow from it:
- Yours to own
- The domain is in your name and the files are yours.
- Plain English, fixed prices
- Agreed before any work starts.
- Built to bring in work
- Every part of the page is there to get you a call.
- Local and reachable
- You deal with me, in Sunderland.
- Honest advice
- If a website won't help your business, I'll tell you.
Questions people ask
I've already got a Facebook page. Isn't that enough?
Keep it. But a lot of people search Google, not Facebook, and a Facebook page doesn't show up well there. Your site links to it.
Do I need to do anything?
A short phone chat, then send me your services, the areas you cover and some photos of your work. I write the words and you check them.
How long does it take?
Usually about two weeks from getting your details and photos.
What if I want to leave?
After the first six months, give 30 days' notice. The domain is already in your name, and I hand over the files free.
Will it get me to the top of Google?
Nobody honest can promise that. I build it so Google can read it properly. Your reviews and a Google Business Profile matter most, and I'll help you set those up.
Why is there no phone number?
So it doesn't get scraped and sold to spammers. Leave yours in the form and I'll ring you.
Send me a message and I'll ring you back
Tell me your trade and roughly what you're after. I'll ring you back within one working day.
